Scholar Courtney Klaus
Our scholars not only succeed academically, but they also are involved in campus organizations. Scholar Courtney Klaus is a cheerleader at UT Tyler, a new student orientation leader, plays intramural softball and volleyball, and is a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Her favorite class so far has been human development. Courtney graduated from Valley Mills High School in 2018.

Scholar Named to UT Dean's List
Congratulations to Emily Hines, who made the Dean's List in the School of Communications at UT Austin. Emily is a double major in journalism and sustainability studies. Her favorite class during the fall was "Weather and Climate" because the professor was so passionate about the topic. "I feel as though I have really grown and branched out at UT, and I couldn't be happier," she said. Emily is a 2018 of Waco High.

Congratulations to Judith Hernandez
Congratulations to Judith Hernandez, who was named to the Dean’s list at the University of Texas at Austin for the Fall 2019 semester. Judith is an active member of the National Students for Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. She is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Business of Healthcare. Judith also works as a student recruiter in the Office of Admissions. She graduated from Connally High School.

Martin Nunez Holds Club Leadership Position
We are so proud of our scholars for taking on leadership positions. Martin Nunez is the Texas A&M University Psychology Club treasurer. The club has a wide variety of students, from undergrad to graduate and even PHD students. Martin reports that professionals give presentations every other week to tell the members of their journey in the psychology field and to pass on stories of knowledge and failure. "Along with this we have socials, fundraising opportunities, and great networking opportunities in the Texas A&M psychology community," he said. Martin is a 2019 graduate of Harmony Science Academy.

Amar Kaur To Take Part in Medical Research Project
We love sharing our scholars' accomplishments and Amar Kaur has had several. Amar, who is a freshman at Texas A&M, will be part of a research team with Texas A&M University College of Medicine faculty investigating cystic fibrosis; is president of Sikhialpha, it is a new organization on campus, and is part of the student chapter of the American Medical Association and Biomedical Sciences Research Certificate Program. Amar graduated from Waco High in 2019.

Congratulations to Scholar Miguel Barboza
2019 Scholar Miguel Barboza was named to McLennan Community College's Distinguished Honors List for the 2019 fall semester. The Distinguished Honors List is reserved for students who achieve a 3.8 to 4.0 grade-point average for the semester. Miguel graduated from Connally High School and hopes to be a Radiology Technician. In addition to attending MCC, Miguel made time for volunteer work by helping with Mission Waco's Walk for the Homeless and the Cameron Park Zoo.

Congratulations to Namir Rebollar
Congratulations to Orionnamir Rebollar on making the Dean's List at Tarleton State University. Namir graduated from McGregor High School in 2017 and has already earned an associate's degree in cyber security from TSTC. At Tarleton, he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
